My step dad would always take me here, he passed away today, I've made so many memories in this lovely restaurant the food, the staff it's all perfect. In memory of him I will continue dining here frequently, thank you salmon y salmon for all the great memories
I been going here for years, and suprised I never left a review. It's small but thos little Peruvian restaurant has a really special take on the ...
Simply spectacular ! this place doesn’t look like much in the outside but once inside, it felt intimate. For the affordable prices they charge, the food was spectacular, the Chilean wine selection very well chosen and the service friendly, they were very busy they afternoon i went so i didn’t mind the wait. I don’t expect perfection from restaurants but when they are able to satisfy 3 out of 4 elements ( price, food, service, timing) they got me and my friends as customers.
Food is great, price is reasonable for seafood. They have a lovely decor even though it is a small restaurant with 9 tables at close proximity with an additional “bar” type seating of 3 more chairs. My mom had the clam chowder which she enjoyed although the clams still had some sand grains (at least you know it is fresh made). The complimentary bread was perfect (crunchy shell with soft warm bread inside) and it comes with butter (that isn’t frozen like some places so it was easy to spread) and a garlic-cilantro dip (nice but I prefer the butter). I ordered a layered potato which is mash potatoes (fresh golden potatoes) mixed with shrimp garnished with avocado and tomato slices. It was good but I am not a fan of shrimp in general. Parking in the plaza might be tight on busy hours but at 8pm, most businesses are closed so we didn’t need to use the additional parking in the rear. When paying for the bill, make sure you look at the tip (because it is added automatically). Staff was friendly and helpful with recommendations. I ordered the tacu tacu (black beans and rice) with steak. My mom got noodles with steak (she said it needed more seasoning but it was well cooked). My dish was more of a refried beans rice mixture. The steak was delicious although it could have used a bit more salt. Everything was very aromatic and huge portions. Next time I won’t order appetizers unless I am sharing because I am so full I might not make it to dessert. They have tres leches, flan, suspiros (I think it’s baked merengue) and tiramisu. I decided to box the rest of my meal and save room for dessert. Tiramisu was made in a round container with a top for those who want to take it home. I am sure they get it from the same bakery that makes their dinner rolls. All delicious. The sauce on my steak was almost as good as my mom’s. 5 stars all the way! When I got the bill, it was a bit confusing so beware (the only thing I don’t like is the lack of automated billing like other places- you don’t get a receipt so I took a picture) “SC” is their code for the tip. And they charge 8% tax (which is illegal since tax is 7% in Miami). But since they automatically charge 15% tip, I will just let it slide as a total 16% tip since the food is really good and fast. They gave out these cute little mints the size of a corn kernel at the end. So enjoy a good meal here, just be aware of food prices for when the bill come around. Update: came back and this time I tried the New England clam chowder and it was good (but both times it came super hot so be careful otherwise you can burn your tongue). I also ordered the bistec encebollado (steak with onions and tomatoes). It was tender and flavorful, however it was hard to cut with the butter knife they provided. I later asked for a sharper knife and they admitted they forgot to provide me with a steak knife. I order a lemon suspiro which was a lemon custard top with a caramel cream sprinkled with cinnamon powder. It tasted like caramel and lemon (not my favorite but there might be people who like this). My mom ordered barayo which is an egg white fluff dessert with peaches inside. My mom loved it but I didn’t want to try it. Maybe next time. Update: came with my mom and sister this time and the food was excellent as always but we did find the clam chowder a bit more watery (our theory is as follows - the thick chowders on our last two visits were probably due to the fact it was near closing time and most of the water has evaporated from the stock). My sister ordered the fish fillet in green coriander sauce which she enjoyed and said the sauce was light and not overpowering. My mom ordered beef and seafood pasta which she thought was a bit salty this time. Bathroom is a single stall at the end of the establishment which is ok in cleanliness and it had a counter which was convenient for ladies with purses like me. Took pictures of the menu this time so people can see what they offered and noticed they did mentioned that they added the tip automatically to the bill.
Excellent family restaurant, this is a whole in the wall, small place but it's awesome. We stopped in and we're a party of five, we had appetizers and main entrees. Definitely if you're in the area it's a must stop. We were here for late lunch early dinner, the whole family love it, food was very good and very flavorful. Great Peruvian food experience. Prices are very reasonable come and enjoy.
Food was delicious!! This is the perfect place to visit if your looking for authentic Peruvian dishes at a great price.
Best Peruvian food, super recommend!! You won’t regret it..
All the food is very tasty but I recommend getting the grilled salmon. I don’t normally get salmon anywhere by here which says a lot. The place has a cozy feeling and the staff are attentive. Parking available.
